Frequently Asked Questions
Q: In the past, I have used housekeeping services that claimed they could clean my entire 2500 sq ft home in less than three hours. I have always felt like they weren’t really getting my home clean, is three hours a fair amount of time to get my entire home clean?
A: In all honesty, probably not. To do a thorough cleaning of a home your size would take at least 6 man-hours to do, dusting vacuuming, mopping, polishing, scouring bathrooms, etc. If one could clean their home thoroughly in three hours, most people would do it themselves. If paying for three hours of house cleaning is all you can budget, then it would be wise to pick your least favorite cleaning tasks for a cleaning service to do. Kimberkleen is flexible to your needs and your budget.
Q: If the estimate for my home is four hours and the cleaning service brings in two people to work, does this mean they will get done faster and I only have to pay for the actual time they are here?
A: If you’ve been given an estimate for four hours of cleaning and the company brings in two people to clean, you still pay for four man-hours even though it only takes them two hours to complete. Sometime we bring in cleaning crews of two, three and four people so we get through all of our homes each day. This means we’ll be in and out quickly, but you will still be getting four hours worth of cleaning done.
Q: Does Kimberkleen do windows?
A: Absolutely, but this is a separate service and we charge by window and type.
Q: I have always found it very uncomfortable to complain about something when I’m not happy with the work. How does Kimberkleen handle this?
A: From time to time we will leave an optional survey for you to complete, letting us know how well we did. We take great pride in our work and want to know where we can improve.
Q: Does Kimberkleen provide all the cleaning supplies needed to clean my home, or must I keep products in stock?
A: We provide all of the cleaners needed, unless you have your own products that you prefer we use. The one item that we do ask you to keep plenty in stock are paper towels.
Q: I have two young children and a dog and cat - the house can get pretty cluttered. Will your company pick up dirty clothes, toys, wash dishes, when you’re here to do the regular cleaning.
A: Kimberkleen is willing and able to do most chores within reason, however, one must understand that doing these extra things adds up to additional time that we must charge for. We understand that there might be a few things here and there that we have to tidy up, but if we have to spend 30 minutes to an hour picking up before we can clean, then this will cut into your regularly budgeted cleaning time.
Q: Will your cleaning company clean behind appliances, etc?
A: Only if you make sure to pull the appliance out before we get there, then we will clean it and leave it for you to move back. It becomes a liability for us if we move heavy appliances and furnishings.
Q: Should I expect your company to pull out the sofa to clean behind and underneath?
A: We will if there is no hazard of damaging the material underneath it. If you have a heavy sofa, loveseat or chair that rests on a beautiful shiny wood floor that could scratch easily, we ask that you pull it out for us prior to our arrival and we will leave it for you to return it to it’s resting place after we have cleaned.
Q: What kind of vacuums do you use?
A: We use Miele canister and Perfect Model Backpack Vacuums. Kimberkleen uses the top of the line models available by these manufacturers. These have dual Hepa filters and are changed on a regular basis.
Q. Can I pay online using my credit card?
A: Absolutely! Kimberkleen gives you the client many payment options including online payments via a secure web site, PayPal.
